Description |
Paper tape telegraph printer Type 23A, rectangular steel base supporting electric motor and mechanism that receives message, which are then printed on paper tape. Electric motor screwed onto metal base, which powers a gear system that moves a roll of tape through a printer. On a cast metal arm on one end is a cylindrical empty case that houses the printer tape. This has a metal lid. Directly under that is a small control panel with two whit plastic buttons and three on/off toggle swtiches. Next to that is a compartment for housing what appears to be blue or purple ink. The letter-typing mechanism is directly behind that. The whole mechanism has think, bundled electric wires connected to various places, with cloth coverings. |
