Description |
Suitcase-style case for hostage negotiation telephone used by Aurora Police Department. Case is covered in light brown fabric with two sets of light brown, tan, and beige stripes that run vertically around the case. At each corner where the lid meets the bottom is a metal bracket on both top and bottom. Handle at top is brown leather and is attached between two metal clasps. Square lever of clasps is pushed outward to release clasp hinges. Front of case has a sticker that says "Police" in black print. Interior of case is lined with red fabric and has brown fabric straps for holding equipment in. In lower half on right side is a faux wood box with multiple switches and output plugs for using telephone. Switches are labeled in black and red stickers with white print. At top of box are two drilled holes out of which project silver cords with telephone jacks at the ends. The cords can be retracted and extended by pulling on them. Below this are two small beige plastic electrical boxes labeled "Phone 2" and "Phone 1." On side of Phone 2 box are two cables, one is silver and attached via a phone jack and the other is beige and connected to the box. These run together, wrapped in black electrical tape, to the back of a dark red plastic rotary-style telephone with a clear plastic dial and white numbers. The silver cord plugs in to phone jack on back of phone and the beige cord attaches underneath phone. On side of Phone 1 box are the same cables, arranged in the same way. These run to a beige plastic rotary-style telephone with a clear dial and black numbers. Both phones are roughly box-shaped with rotary dial on top front and space for handset on top back. On side of faux wood box are two silver screw-like connectors with a clear cord attached to them. |
